Wisconsin's top manufacturers to be honored Thursday

The New North will be well represented at Thursday’s night Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Awards ceremony in Milwaukee.

The Grand Awards are categorized based on employee count; small, medium, large and mega. Each company is evaluated in areas such as financial growth or consistency, technological advances, product development, environmental solutions, operational excellence/continuous improvement, commitment to employees, and effective research and development. Returning for a second year is the Grand Award for Sustainability, which will be presented to the manufacturer who has demonstrated a commitment to and successfully implemented sustainable manufacturing practices that are environmentally and economically sound.

Thirteen companies from throughout the region have been nominated for the award – which is co-sponsored by Michael Best and Friedrich LLP, Baker Tilly Virchow Krause and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce. The awards are recognized as one of the top industry honors for state manufacturers.

And the nominees are:

· Kaytee Products of Chilton in the Large Category

· Natural Stone Veneers International Inc. of Fond du Lac in the Small Category

· Sanimax Industries of Green Bay in the Mega Category

· WS Packaging of Green Bay in the Mega Category and the Sustainability Category

· Fox Valley Spring of Greenville in the Small Category

· The Manitowoc Co.’s Crane Division in the Mega Category

· Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry of Manitowoc in the Large Category

· Mayville Engineering Co. Inc. of Mayville in the Mega Category and the Sustainability Category

· Veolia ES, Special Services of Neenah in the Large Category

· Oshkosh Corporation-Defense Division in the Mega Category

· Sargento Foods of Plymouth in the Mega Category

· Genex Cooperative Inc. of Shawano in the Mega Category

· American Orthodontics Corp. of Sheboygan in the Large Category
