Wisconsin Economic Summit Series Makes Stop in Appleton

Business, education and community leaders are planning a series of summits to develop recommendations on how to boost Wisconsin's economy and create more jobs.

The 2010 Wisconsin Economic Summit Series will consist of three sessions:

• Creating the Economic Vision, New Strategies for Economic Development and Competitiveness, Aug. 2, Appleton, will propose strategies for providing more good-paying jobs and developing a business-friendly state environment.

• Managing the State Budget Deficit, Aug. 26, La Crosse, will look at 2011-2013 state budget challenges facing the governor and Legislature who will be elected in November.

• Moving Wisconsin Forward, Oct. 5, Milwaukee, will make recommendations on job creation, economic growth, and state budget issues.

The key groups behind the summits are the UW System, Competitive Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Technology Council, the Wisconsin Way and the Wisconsin Higher Education Business Roundtable.
