New month ushers in new business events

July just zoomed by. Here’s a look at what’s coming ahead in August in business across the New North:

The Chamber of Manitowoc County is hosting its “Business Connects with Government” Luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the Best Western Lakefront Hotel, 101 Maritime Drive, Manitowoc.  This month’s speaker is Jim Golembeski, executive director of the Bay Area Workforce Development Board. Jeff Sheffler of Associated Bank, Eric Ness of the Small Business Administration and Dan Schneider of Wisconsin Business Development will speak about “Alternative Methods of Raising Capital” during an event on Aug. 12 sponsored by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce at Fox Valley Technical College’s Bordini Center. The event begins at 7:15 a.m.

Theresa Lehman, director of sustainable services at Miron Construction in the Town of Menasha, will discuss the importance of going green during a free presentation from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Country Inn and Suites.
