Can $50 really make a difference? Yes, according to Cinda Baxter, founder of the 3/50 Project.

She believes that if everyone chose three locally-owned businesses that they couldn’t live without and spent $50 there each month, it would go a long way to help businesses who are struggling.

Baxter is speaking on Wednesday at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:45 a.m. (breakfast is included). To buy tickets, click here or call the Fox Cities P.A.C. at (920) 730-3760.

While Baxter is the founder of the national movement, there are several businesses in the Fox Valley – including some business owners who graduated from an advanced entrepreneurs course at the Venture Center – who are trying to make the 3/50 Project viable in our community. (Insight did a story on the local project in September 2009. Click here to read more.)

If you have time Wednesday, please check Baxter out. If you don’t have time, please think carefully about incorporating the ideas of the 3/50 Project in your own life. It would go a long way to helping local businesses succeed and thrive.
