Pierce Manufacturing, a division of Oshkosh Corp., was named the top mega manufacturer of the year during Wednesday night’s annual Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce dinner. Pierce, which is located in the Town of Menasha, makes custom fire and rescue apparatus.
Pierce was one of five businesses honored during the event. Heather Vander Heyden, senior business development officer for Fox Communities Credit Union, was also named winner of the Athena Award, which honors a top business woman.
Other companies honored include:
- Gulfstream Aerospace of Greenville received the large manufacturer award. Gulfstream employs about 720 people and handles the final phase of manufacturing for the Gulfstream G450 and G550.
- Veolia Environmental Services-Special Service Inc. Of Neenah received the medium manufacturing award. With 50 employees, the company provided vessel and emergency response support from their ship, the Viking Poseidon, during the recent BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
- Bouwer Printing & Mailing, which is owned by sisters Lisa Bouwer Hansen and Kathy Peotter, received the small manufacturer award. The company employs 20.
- Plexus Corp. of Neenah also received an operational excellence award. With more than 2,300 employees in the Fox Cities, the company opened a new corporate headquarters in June. Click here to read the feature Insight ran on the company last May.
