The Wisconsin Wind Works Wind Energy Symposium rolls into Milwaukee on Wednesday.
Wisconsin Wind Works is a consortium of manufacturers representing the wind manufacturing supply chain within Wisconsin. It is a collaborative initiative of New North, Inc., a regional non-profit economic development organization, that connects wind power companies to suppliers and vendors. Annual membership is available to any Wisconsin company interested in growing its business in the wind industry. The wind energy industry is a target growth market of the New North.
Featuring networking opportunities and expert panels, the event at the Frontier Airlines Center in downtown Milwaukee will provide a forum for collaboration and education. Attendees will learn about current industry issues and trends, including market outlooks for 2010-2013, market entry strategies, and opportunities for regional manufacturers.
The symposium also gives attendees the chance to develop connections with the newest Wisconsin wind energy supply chain entrant, Ingeteam (INDAR), and global wind leader Vestas during the featured lunch presentation.
Other panelists include representatives from the Great Lakes Wind Network, Office of Energy Independence, American Wind Energy Association, Wausaukee Composites Inc., Milwaukee Machine Works and the Milwaukee 7.
The cost is $125 per person. Current students with valid student photo IDs enjoy a reduced registration rate of only $35. Admission includes all sessions, a light breakfast, lunch and a social networking reception.
