I don’t know about you, but I love the feeling of opening up my new paper calendar and seeing lots of empty spaces (yes, I’m old-fashioned and still use a paper calendar….) With that in mind, here’s a look at a variety of events coming up this month as well as some bigger events later on that you won’t want to miss:
Schenck is hosting several free 90-minute workshops on QuickBooks/Peachtree updates next month. The events provide a look at the new features within the 2011 QuickBooks and Peachtree by Sage programs. The workshops will have one room dedicated to QuickBooks and another room dedicated to Peachtree updates and attendees may choose which session they would like to attend. All workshops run from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Dates and locations are: Jan. 4 at Butte des Morts Country Club, Appleton; Jan. 5 at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, Manitowoc (Manitowoc hosting QuickBooks update only); Jan. 6 at Pine Hills Country Club, Sheboygan; Jan. 7 at La Sure’s Hall, Oshkosh; and Jan. 13 at the Holiday Inn of Fond du Lac. Ripon College Professor Deano Pape will put social networking in the spotlight at the January meeting of Women in Management on Jan. 11 at the Holiday Inn in Manitowoc. Networking and lunch begin at 11:15 a.m. The program begins at noon. Please RSVP to [email protected]
InDevelopment, an event for anyone associated with the commercial real estate industry, is Jan. 13 at the KI Center in Green Bay. Brought to you by Insight, the event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some activities scheduled include speed Networking with NEWREP, followed by bus tours of Green Bay, Lunch with a keynote speaker and lunch, afternoon speakers on Emerging Trends and a Commercial Lending Panel Discussion. The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Small Business Development Center is offering “Resolving Organizational Conflict,” a two-day management program focused on conflict resolution strategies. One of the elective programs in the Supervisory Leadership Certificate series, “Resolving Organizational Conflict” will be offered Jan. 19 and 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Participants will learn how to manage conflict productively and obtain tools and tips that can be immediately used in the workplace. The Wisconsin Business Development Finance Corporation is holding a series of seminars in February on Growing Opportunities for Small Business Lending. The seminars will update lenders and interested small business professionals on the significant legislative and SOP changes that have recently impacted the SBA 504 and 7(a) loan programs. Seminar dates in the New North include Feb. 15 at the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan, Feb. 16 at the Oshkosh Hilton Garden Inn and Feb. 22 at the Green Bay Ramada Plaza.
