After nearly two decades at the helm of CitizensFirst Credit Union in Oshkosh, Carla Altepeter has been named president/CEO of Numerica Credit Union, a $1.1 billion financial institution headquartered in Spokane, Wash.

Altepeter will take the reins Sept. 1.  She was profiled in the May 2009 issue of Insight. Click here and go the May 2009 cover to read the story.

A farewell open house for CitizensFirst members and the business community will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at the CitizensFirst corporate office lobby, 2900 Universal St., Oshkosh.

“Carla has provided tremendous leadership to CitizensFirst over the last two decades,” says Brenda Haines, CitizensFirst Board Chairperson. “This new position is a testament to her outstanding accomplishments at CitizensFirst. We will miss her vision and leadership both at the credit union and throughout the community. We wish her continued success in her new position.”

Under Altepeter’s tenure, CitizensFirst grew from $91 million in assets in 1992 to $350 million in assets today, where two out of every five residents in Winnebago County are members of the local 75 year old financial institution.

In addition to asset growth, Altepeter oversaw expansion of the credit union to include three branches in Oshkosh and two in Fond du Lac—the most recent under construction on East Johnson Street to be completed by December 2011
