Small Business Success: Best Practices, a new series launched by The Venture Center at Fox Valley Technical College, will kick off from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at FVTC’s D.J. Bordini Center, 5 Systems Drive in Appleton. The breakfast series will be held during the first Thursday of each month. The session’s format is designed to engage participants in hands-on problem/solution experiences that convey real-life issues small business owners encounter.  The sessions are also designed for small business owners to connect with other entrepreneurs and learn strategies from various experts.  The event June 7 will focus on developing an innovative business model and will be presented by Amy Pietsch of the Venture Center.   • Tuesday, June 5 and Wednesday, June 6: The 2012 Wisconsin Entrepreneur’s Conference will be held at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. The 10th annual conference offers opportunity for networking and education for entrepreneurs.   • Wednesday, June 6: The Fox Cities Chamber Business Expo will be held from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at The Radisson Paper Valley Hotel. The annual event is moving from its traditional September date to June this year and will immediately follow the Chamber’s Business Awards luncheon program. The day will be capped with a Business Connection networking event from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Radisson. Visit:
  • Thursday, June 14: Speaker Noah Rickun, an innovator and sales expert, will speak from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Butte Des Morts Country Club at 3600 W. Prospect Ave., Appleton. The event is sponsored by Fox Cities Credit Union. Rickun is former CEO of Jeffrey Gitomer’s TrainOne, the world leader in online interactive sales training and personal development.
