Current, a young professionals group in Green Bay, is seeking volunteers to sell concessions during Fridays on the Fox, a weekly outdoor concert series presented by Downtown Green Bay, Inc. Current retains tip and wristband revenue to support programming efforts to attract, engage, develop and retain young talent to the Greater Green Bay area. The concert series started Friday, June 22 and runs through Friday, Aug 17 at the CityDeck. - Thursday, June 28: Applications are due for Leadership Fox Cities for the 2012-2013 leadership year. The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce & Industry initiated the program in 1991 to cultivate and train an ongoing pool of candidates who could serve the community. Leadership Fox Cities attracts both long-time residents who want a deeper connection to their community and newcomers who want to become familiar with the history, needs and resources of their new hometown. The program covers local history, biographies of past and current leaders and philanthropists, a wide-ranging sampling of resources, attractions and leaders here. During the year, participants will work in small groups to define, plan and carry out a community service project. They will learn how to become involved in the issues and organizations. - Saturday, June 30: The deadline to register for the American Foundation of Counseling Services (AFCS) 2012 Women in Leadership Seminar is Saturday. The program will take place the second Wednesday of every month, July through December, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the AFCS Offices in the Bellin Building in downtown Green Bay. The cost is $700, or $560 for nonprofit organizations. Participants will take a leadership assessment, set development goals, engage in peer consultation, network with other women leaders and build their leadership skills. - Monday, August 6: The 20th Annual Women’s Golf & Luncheon Benefit will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Butte des Morts Country Club. The day’s events include a silent auction, raffles, golf and indoor games such as Scrabble, Bunco and Dominoes. Participants have the chance to win a trip for four to Disney World in Orlando. The event hopes to raise $100,000 for a new Mother Baby Family room in the renovated St. Elizabeth Hospital Women & Families Unit. Last year, the event raised almost $98,000 for a suite in the St. Elizabeth Hospital Cancer Center. Since its inception in 1993, the Golf & Luncheon Benefit has raised more than $980,000.
