The Eagle Flats housing development’s grand opening will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12 with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by boat tours showcasing riverfront development in Appleton. The boat tours will be from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The event includes live music by Rob Anthony, building tours, door prizes and treats. The event is hosted by Horizon Development Group, Appleton Housing Authority, Energy Star/Focus on Energy, and Eagle Flats, LLC.

  • Thursday, July 12: The Current Young Professionals group will hold the Blind Wine Time event starting with registration and networking at 5 p.m. at the Flats on the Fox Apartments, 335 N. Washington St., Green Bay. The blind wine tasting starts at 6 p.m. The event is $20 for members of Current and $30 for non-members. Light hors d’oeuvres and other refreshments will be served.   • Wednesday, July 25: The UW-Oshkosh Business Success Center will hold the fourth annual AeroInnovate event during the EAA AirVenture week. The event will highlight new technologies, entrepreneurs, emerging companies and investment trends. The day starts at 9 a.m. with speaker Scott Case, CEO of Startup America Partnership, and includes Venture Forums, an Investors Only Roundtable, and an evening panel discussion. There also will be a Pitch & Mingle Event from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the EAA Aviators Club. AeroInnovate is free with AirVenture admission, though the Pitch & Mingle event and Investors Only Roundtable Dinner are $35 each or $50 for both. Reservations are required.   • Monday, August 6: The 20th Annual Women’s Golf & Luncheon Benefit will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Butte des Morts Country Club. The day’s events include a silent auction, raffles, golf and indoor games such as Scrabble, Bunco and Dominoes. Participants have the chance to win a trip for four to Disney World in Orlando. The event hopes to raise $100,000 for a new Mother Baby Family room in the renovated St. Elizabeth Hospital Women & Families Unit. Last year, the event raised almost $98,000 for a suite in the St. Elizabeth Hospital Cancer Center. Since its inception in 1993, the Golf & Luncheon Benefit has raised more than $980,000.
