The 20th Annual Women’s Golf & Luncheon Benefit will be held Monday, Aug. 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Butte des Morts Country Club. The day’s events include a silent auction, raffles, golf and indoor games such as Scrabble, Bunco and Dominoes. Participants have the chance to win a trip for four to Disney World in Orlando. Organizers hope to raise $100,000 for a new Mother Baby Family room in the renovated St. Elizabeth Hospital Women & Families Unit. Last year, the event raised almost $98,000 for a suite in the St. Elizabeth Hospital Cancer Center. Since its inception in 1993, the Golf & Luncheon Benefit has raised more than $980,000.
- Monday, July 30: Current, the Green Bay Chamber’s young professionals group, will host Read to Lead: The Traveler’s Gift, from noon to 1 p.m. For each session of Read to Lead, an area professional will lead a discussion of a book. The speaker will be Chad Heath of Alliance Insurance Centers, LLC, and the book is The Traveler’s Gift: Seven Decisions That Determine Personal Success, by Andy Andrews. - Monday, July 30: The Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce is teaming with the Community Blood Center and Goodwill Industries to host a blood drive from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the Chamber office at 101 E. - Wednesday, Aug. 15: The Women Leaders & Entrepreneurs Series will host the presentation “It’s in the bag – the origins of Chaumé” by Mollie Thirey and Amanda Rhodes, the creators of the handbag company. - Saturday, Aug. 18: The Big Green Sustainable Music Festival will launch its premiere event from noon to 9:30 p.m. at Sunset Park in Kimberly. The proceeds from the event will benefit Sustainable Fox Valley, a local nonprofit organization that promotes self-reliant local economies and a healthy natural environment.
