The Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 2013 Awards Celebration from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Grand Meridian, 2621 N. Oneida St. in Appleton, to recognize the achievements of the business community. The event features keynote speaker Dave Anderson of Famous Dave’s of America. To register, call (920) 766-1616.

Tuesday, Feb. 5: The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce will hold its northeast Wisconsin launch event at 5:30 p.m. at Stone Cellar Brewpub in Appleton. Speakers will be Jason Rae, executive director of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson and Appleton Mayor Tim Hanna. The event is open to the public.

Tuesday, Feb. 5: The Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce is hosting an A.M. Connect from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the chamber office, 101 E. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna. The speaker is Diane Roundy, Schenck’s director of business development, who will share 20 strategies for relationship building during the business development process. Wednesday, Feb. 6: The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce & Industry will host the 2013 Economic Outlook Breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton. Featured speaker is Jeff Howe, author of Crowdsourcing and professor of journalism at Northeastern University in Boston. Immediately following the presentation, Appleton Group Wealth Management will offer a free session on its clearTREND software. Cost is $25 for members and $35 for prospective members. Thursday, Feb. 7: The Economic Development Corporation of Manitowoc County and Lakeshore Technical College will present a one-hour information session called Business Building Blocks from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The event, which is for people interested in starting their own business, will be at the corporation office at 202 N. 8th Street, Suite 101 in Manitowoc. Monday, Feb. 18: The Northeast Wisconsin Chambers Coalition is hosting a Legislative Dialogue Breakfast at 7:45 a.m. at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton. Speakers will be Sen. Tammy Baldwin, Rep. Reid Ribble, State Sen. Mike Ellis and Todd Berry, president of the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance. Cost is $20. Register at www.fdlac.com.
