Scheels and United Sports Association for Youth (USA Youth), Inc. entered into a 10-year sponsorship and naming rights agreement that changes the name of the north Appleton sports complex to Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex, effective immediately, the organizations announced Wednesday.
“The board of directors and the three member organizations of USA Youth, Inc. are thrilled to be partnering with a strong sporting goods retailer like Scheels, who has given so much to our community,” says Matt Ten Haken, USA Youth, Inc. board president. “This agreement will provide the support to allow us to continue to offer a premier complex for local youth athletes.”
USA Youth, Inc. leases 73 acres of parkland from the City of Appleton. The facility includes 15 soccer fields, two Little League fields, and two full-sized baseball fields. The complex, located at 3300 East Evergreen Drive, is managed by USA Youth, Inc., a non-profit organization run by a 13-member board of directors. The board includes representatives from the three member organizations of Appleton Soccer Club, Appleton Little League, and Panthers Baseball Club.
“Partnering with USA Youth, Inc. is a natural fit for Scheels. Both organizations have similar customer service-oriented missions and there is a great deal of crossover in our clientele. We look forward to a long-lasting, mutually-beneficial partnership,” says Rick Starosta, Scheels assistant store leader.
Scheels is a 24-store operation headquartered in Fargo, N.D., with stores in 10 states including locally at Grand Chute’s Fox River Mall.
Scheels USA Youth Sports Complex hosts hundreds of practices and competitions during the spring, summer, and fall months annually, in addition to numerous prestigious state, regional, and national tournaments and clinics.
