The Fox Valley Technical College Annual Community Open House will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1. Visitors can tour the college’s high-tech learning labs, learn how to pay for college, and meet with instructors. Friday, Sept. 27: The Chamber of Manitowoc County will be hosting the financial educational event “The Reality Store” at Lincoln High School, 1433 S. 8th St., Manitowoc from 8 a.m. to noon. The goal of this event is to help students learn basic skills in financial planning, goal setting, decision making, and career planning. The Chamber is seeking volunteers for the event. Monday, Oct. 7: The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual dinner at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay starting with networking at 5 p.m., followed by the dinner and awards ceremony. The keynote speaker for the event will be Ken Schmidt, former director of communications for Harley Davidson. The event is $55 per person. To register, visit www.titletown.org.

Tuesday, Oct. 15:  Rebecca Ryan, economist, futurist, author, and founder of Next Generation Consulting, will speak at the Walter Theater at St. Norbert College. Registration begins at 7:30 am; event is from 8:30 to 10:30 am. Following the presentation there will be a Q-an-A session and the launch of her second book ReGENERATION: A Manifesto for America’s Future Leaders. Wednesday, Oct. 16: The Chamber of Manitowoc County is hosting the Local Taste & Market Place Business Summit 2013 on Oct. 16 from noon to 7 pm at the Fox Hills Resort in Mishicot. The event will include a presentation by keynote speaker David Beurle, six workshops and admission to the Local Taste & Market Place. Beurle, owner of Future iQ Partners, will present “Making the Most of What You Have – Creating Your Preferred Future.” Cost is $25 for the luncheon or $75 for luncheon with keynote speaker, choice of three workshops and admission to the Local Taste & Market Place.
