Tuesday, Oct. 1: The Fox Valley Technical College Annual Community Open House will be from 3 to 7 p.m.. Visitors can tour the college’s high-tech learning labs, learn how to pay for college, and meet with instructors. Tuesday, Oct. 8: The Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce is hosting a NEW Emerging Leaders program from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Marks Eastside, 1405 E. Wisconsin Ave., Appleton. Northeast Wisconsin (NEW) Emerging Leaders is a new initiative of the chamber that is focused on strengthening and expanding business connections and skills of all members, particularly those age 40 and younger.

The event will include a presentation by keynote speaker David Beurle, six workshops and admission to the Local Taste & Market Place.
