The third Manufacturing First Expo & Conference will be held at the KI Convention Center from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. The event will draw more than 600 attendees and will feature breakout sessions, speakers and lunch. Monday, Oct. 14: Fox Communities Credit Union is holding “Shredfests” at all of its branches through Saturday, Oct. 19. Locked bins will be available to place personal papers to be destroyed. Visitors are limited to two grocery bags of papers. On Oct. 19, on-site shredding will be available and visitors can bring up to 10 grocery bags of papers. The Calumet Street branch will have a “drive-through shredfest.”

Tuesday, Oct. 15: Author Rebecca Ryan will lead a discussion on leveraging the Green Bay area’s progress to recruit and retain talent at the Walter Theater at St. Norbert College in De Pere. The event, hosted by Greater Green Bay, begins at 7:30 a.m. with registration and networking, with the program starting at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Q&A and book signing. The cost is $20. Visit

Wednesday, Oct. 16: The Chamber of Manitowoc County is hosting the Local Taste & Market Place Business Summit 2013 from noon to 7 p.m. at the Fox Hills Resort in Mishicot. The event will include a presentation by keynote speaker David Beurle, six workshops and admission to the Local Taste & Market Place. Wednesday, Oct. 16: A meeting of Converting Influence will be held at the Fox Valley Technical College’s Bordini Center from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $60 with lunch.
