The Mid-Day Women’s Alliance will host speaker Mary Burke at its March meeting at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton on Wednesday, March 19. Registration begins at 9:45 a.m. followed by networking and a business expo. Lunch will be at 11:15, followed by a business meeting and the keynote speaker. Tuesday, March 18: The Office of Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley is offering a series of seminars to business professionals. The program on Tuesday, March 18 will be “Leading Effective Meetings,” from 8 to 11 a.m. The fee is $73. “Effective Leadership” will be presented on Wednesday, March 26 and Wednesday, April 2 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The course fee is $89. Wednesday, March 19: Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt will present his State of the City Address at the Meyer Theatre from 5 to 6 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the Fox Heights Pub & Grill. The event is free and open to the public.

Wednesday, March 19: Sales and Marketing Professionals of Northeast Wisconsin’s program will be at Lawrence University from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Craig Gagnon, Lawrence’s associate vice president of communications, will speak about the importance of brand identity and positioning strategy in higher education. Thursday, March 20: The Chamber of Manitowoc County will present a Chamber Café/Sail Lunch & Learn Speed Networking  at 11:30 a.m. in the Heritage Room 2 at Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, 2406 South Alverno Road. Thursday, March 20:  The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business & Breakfast will host a presentation on volunteerism and its impact on economic development initiatives from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The event is $18 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members. Friday, March 28: Propel Oshkosh Young Professionals Network will host a casino night fundraiser, “Propel Prohibition and Poker,” on at the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center from 7 to 10 p.m.  Proceeds go toward the Oshkosh Community Education Fund. Tickets are $35. Thursday, May 8: Prevea Runway for Life will be held at Jet Air, 1921 Airport Dr., Green Bay, from 5:30 to 11 p.m. This year’s event will help raise money for the Breast Cancer Family Foundation. Organizers still need donations for its live and silent auctions, and have opportunities for event sponsorship. Additionally, corporate table purchases allow company guests preferred seating to watch the fashion show and other premier activities. Volunteers also are needed.
