The Fox Cities Regional Partnership announced that Manny Vasquez, its vice president of existing industry services, will be promoted to the position of vice president of the organization.
Vasquez joined the Regional Partnership in May 2014 and took on the responsibilities of managing the implementation of the Regional Partnership’s existing industry program by building strong relationships with corporate leadership of the Fox Cities region’s primary employers; identifying and addressing their needs, challenges, and opportunities; and working collaboratively with private, public, and non-profit partners to foster local primary job creation.
“Manny knows and understands the importance of building relationships in economic development,” said John F. Bergstrom, Chairman and CEO of Bergstrom Corporation. “With both his relationships and his passion for putting the Fox Cities on the map, we have the right person in place to carry our mission forward and help tell our region’s story.”
In his new role of vice president, Vasquez will lead the Regional Partnership in maintaining a full-scope, strategic economic development program that focuses its business attraction strategies on collaborative opportunities to leverage the community’s resources and produce even greater outcomes. This includes an increased focus on retaining and assisting existing businesses with their needs to grow and expand locally as well as heightening its focus on attracting, retaining and expanding high quality talent that is essential for local companies’ and communities’ success.
“This is an exciting time for the Regional Partnership,” said Shannon Full, president/CEO of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce. “We have made tremendous progress in the past three years and are poised to strengthen our region even more under Manny’s leadership. His collaborative work style and long-standing relationships with both the public and private sectors are a tremendous benefit.”
Prior to joining the Regional Partnership, Vasquez served as regional director for Sen. Ron Johnson, overseeing the Senator’s state operation across a 13-county region in northeastern Wisconsin. Previously, he also worked in former Sen. Russ Feingold’s Washington and Madison offices, where he helped individuals and businesses navigate through the complex federal bureaucracy. Vasquez holds a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
