Masters Gallery Foods, Inc., of Plymouth and Amerequip Corp. of Kiel were both awarded a Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year award for creating a unique company culture to support employees.

With its annual MOTY Awards, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce along with Baker Tilly and Michael Best & Friedrich, recognizes manufacturers of all sizes and industries for programs and innovations that enhance the Wisconsin economy. Companies were evaluated in areas such as financial growth or consistency, technological advances, product development, environmental solutions and sustainability.

Amerequip and Masters Gallery received awards in the Company Culture category, which recognizes manufacturers who demonstrate a commitment and investment in not only their employees, but their employees’ families as well.

Amerequip has a more than 95 percent retention rate for employees and has grown its employment base by more than 260 percent.

The company takes steps to ensure new employees feel like part of the team by investing in paid training, providing a welcome gift for the spouse of a new employee and one-one one time with a manger and the CEO.

Amerequip produces backhoes, mower decks, utility vehicle attachments and service kits.

Masters Gallery Foods, Inc. provides admission for employees and their families to attend the Sheboygan County Fair and invest in the health of its employees with free health care through its Center for Health and Wellness.

The company’s industrial sales division, retail division and food service division allows them to market more than 500 million pounds of  cheese each year and exports to China, Mexico and other parts of the world.

The Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year award winners were selected by an independent panel of judges.
