The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce announced that Bob Mundt will be joining the organization as its president/CEO on April 19, 2017.
Mundt made the move to the Fox Cities after 25 years as the president/CEO of the Council Bluffs (Iowa) Area Chamber of Commerce.
“This community is extremely fortunate to have someone of Bob’s caliber heading up our Chamber,” says Daniel P. Ferris, chairman of the Fox Cities Chamber Board of Directors. “Bob’s experience, leadership and proven success will really take our organization to the next level. We look forward to welcoming Bob and his family to the Fox Cities.”
Mundt is a respected leader with strong experience in operations, staff development, program work and financial performance, and his experience with economic development will support the Chamber’s goals of protecting and strengthening the health of our Fox Cities economy, Ferris says.
Mundt replaces Shannon Full, who accepted a position in Minnesota. Sharon Hulce, president of Employment Resource Group Inc., assisted in the search to replace the top chamber position.
Mundt and his wife Martha have three children, Logan, Jami and Molly. All three are either employed or in college. He remains actively involved in their lives and has a special interest in children’s activities including the Board of Directors of Children’s Square USA, YMCA Board of Directors, Lewis Central Board of Education, Lewis Central Booster Club and coaching several sports. He enjoys basketball, reading, yard work and music in his spare time.
In recent years, the Fox Cities Chamber has achieved successes including the launch of the Talent Upload program, which was awarded the Best in Show Award from the International Economic Development Council, and a renewed focus on programming to attract and retain young professionals in the area.
