Companies with a presence in the New North are among eight contractors to win a combined $14 million in contracts for the first building at Foxconn Technology Group’s Mount Pleasant campus.

The Boldt Co. of Appleton received a contract for architectural work while Spancrete Inc., which is headquartered in Waukesha, but has a large presence in Valders, received a contract for precast concrete.

The Foxconn first building, with 120,000 square feet, will have office space for the team of contractors that will construct Foxconn’s $10 billion plant in the coming years. It also will have research and manufacturing space to assemble and package Foxconn’s high-tech LCD screens.

Foxconn is holding a ceremonial groundbreaking today for the project with President Trump and Gov. Scott Walker attending.
