Construction-related businesses in the New North can learn more about working on the massive Foxconn project in Racine County at an informational session July 25 in Green Bay.
Hosted by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., New North Inc., Gilbane Building Co. and M+W Group, the meeting will take place at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, 2740 West Mason St. Registration begins at 1 p.m., followed by an informational session from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Foxconn announced plans last year to build its Wisconn Valley Science & Technology Park in Mount Pleasant, where it will make the next generation of screens for electronic devices.
During the session, an update on the construction schedule with a focus on the next 12 months along with a detailed timeline for the next round of building will be provided. Representatives also will explain how the project is being broken down into segments to allow smaller companies opportunities to participate.
“We continue to see the effects of Foxconn reaching into the New North,” Jerry Murphy, executive director of New North Inc. said in a news release. “Several Northeast Wisconsin companies already have been awarded work for the Racine County site, along with the recent announcement of the Green Bay Innovation Center.”
The session is free, but advance registration is required by going to wisconnvalley.wi.gov.
