More than 63,000 passengers traveled through the airport in June — the most during any single month in the airport’s 53-year history. June also marked the 14th consecutive month of passenger growth for the Greenville airport. In June 2017, 46,000 passengers made their way through the airport.
Airport Director Abe Weber thanked area residents for their support.
“We’re offering more flights than ever before, and customers are really supporting ATW,” he said in a statement. “As more and more people choose Appleton Airport, the airlines will add even more flight options. Our airline staff, TSA team and everyone at the airport really noticed the increase in customers.”
With more flight options — including a new United Airlines flight to Denver that debuted in June — larger planes, more nonstop routes and a new airline in the past year, ATW has seen tremendous growth. In May 2018, Bloomberg named ATW the fourth-fastest-growing airport in the nation.
