Within days of the ribbon cutting ceremony to officially mark its entry into Manitowoc, custom metal fabricator Robinson Metal Inc. announced the purchase of the 112,000-square-foot building it had been leasing to use as a production facility.

Robinson’s new facility is located at 2121 South 30th St., Manitowoc. The building was formerly owned by The Manitowoc Co. Production at the Manitowoc location began in May of this year, with the expectation of employing close to 100 employees over the next few years.

“This building is the perfect fit, with its overhead height and lifting capabilities, for our manufacturing process and allows us to secure long-term capacity for increasing customer demand,” Sam Thomas, operations manager for Robinson, said in a release. “We are very excited to become part of the community and expand the Robinson Metal family to the lakeshore.”

Robinson is headquartered in De Pere.
