Cool Choices engages and educates businesses across Northeast Wisconsin about the advantages of adopting small, daily sustainable actions, Kathy Kuntz, the program’s executive director, said in a news release. Through the program, local businesses reduce operating costs by saving energy and reducing waste while also receiving recognition for their efforts.
“Cool Choices makes it fun and easy to save energy, water and other resources,” she said. “We use a game-based, online platform to encourage people to adopt good habits that reduce waste —which saves money and is good for the environment.”
Residents and businesses in all 18 New North counties have free access to the Cool Choices program thanks to a grant from the McKnight Foundation.
Kuntz encourages businesses to sign up as soon as possible for the program to take full advantage of its offerings. Cool Choices provides businesses with up-front assistance in engaging employees as well as data after the program, including estimated financial and environmental savings.
