Two TEDx events are coming to Northeast Wisconsin in the coming weeks.
TEDx events are modeled after the popular TED events where a variety of speakers talk for 18 minutes on a variety of topics. TEDx events are locally organized.
The inaugural TEDxUWGreenBay is this Thursday at the Weidner Center in Green Bay. The event’s theme is “Rising” with eight different speakers incorporating that theme into their presentations. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.tedxuwgreenbay.com.
The third annual TEDxOshkosh event is being held Nov. 10 at The Waters in Oshkosh. The event features 14 different speakers discussing a range of topics from navigating in the post-truth world and what happens next in the #MeToo movement to the importance of bringing back science into the public eye and what’s wrong with the way math is being taught in today’s schools. For more information or to purchase tickets to TEDxOshkosh, visit www.tedxoshkosh.com.
All TEDx talks are recorded and later posted online for everyone to view.
