Nonprofits in Sheboygan and Green Bay have received grants to put on a series of 10 free outdoor concerts.

The Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Awards provide funds through the Levitt Foundation, which brings free live music to small and mid-sized town and cities. The foundation presented grants to 18 nonprofits nationwide to run the concert series featuring a diverse lineup of professional musicians. Winning cities were selected through an online public voting process.

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan was one of three communities nationwide to receive $75,000 in multiyear funding to present the Levitt AMP Music Series for the next three years. On Broadway Inc. received $25,000 to run the series in 2019 at Leicht Memorial Park in the Broadway District.

In Sheboygan, the concerts will be held in the City Green. Once the site of a vacant large retail store, it has been transformed into an expansive green space complete with a permanent stage located in the heart of Sheboygan’s newly created Arts, Culture and Food District.

As for Green Bay, the upcoming series aims to create a welcoming, community-wide destination for concertgoers of all ages and backgrounds to come together and enjoy a lively and eclectic lineup of music that reflects and celebrates the city’s increasingly rich diversity.
