Fifty-one percent of currently employed adults in the United States are searching for new jobs, according to Gallup’s 2017 State of the American Workplace report. As the economy continues to grow and there’s plenty of discussion around recruiting new workers, businesses and organizations also have to do what they can to retain the employers they have.
Collaborate to Succeed, a training event on Feb. 21 at Fox Valley Technical College in Oshkosh, will provide business owners and managers with best practices to keep their employees. The event was developed by a group of regional workforce experts, including the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board, Fox Valley Technical College, Moraine Park Technical College and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
Representatives from area employers J. J. Keller & Associates, Great Northern Corp., DealerFire and Plexus Corp. will share their experiences on retaining workers. Discussion topics will include using the design thinking process for decision-making, developing a strategic plan to foster an engaged workforce, training internal candidates in preparation for future leadership positions as part of a career development plan, and implementing retention strategies to achieve personal and professional success measures.
Seats for Collaborate to Succeed are limited and preregistration is required by going to https://collaboratetosucceed4.eventbrite.com. The early bird rate is $75 before Jan. 28 and then increasing to $85. The ticket includes continental breakfast and lunch.
