Appleton International Airport officials unveiled several facility upgrades Tuesday thanks to a partnership with ThedaCare.
The collaboration with ThedaCare means travelers will notice health features throughout the airport and a more convenient travel experience, said Airport Director Abe Weber.
“The upgrades we’ve made will help our community members through the process of traveling,” he said. “From the beginning of the partnership with ThedaCare, we’ve kept our passengers in mind as we’ve developed new, healthy and more convenient upgrades to our facility.”
New additions to the airport include a more streamlined security checkpoint featuring a living plant wall and an open floor plan for improved directionality.
ThedaCare’s vision throughout this partnership was to connect health and comfort to a traveler’s journey. Those moving through the airport will notice healthy menu options, hand sanitizer and comfortable, colorful seating.
“Making healthy choices should be convenient at all times, including while traveling. We want to support our community by providing healthy options and wellness tips that promote a healthy lifestyle,” said Dr. Imran Andrabi, president and CEO of ThedaCare. “We are especially excited to offer a best-in-class mothers’ room, which was designed in partnership with our knowledgeable family care providers with convenience in mind.”
Appleton International Airport is now the third-largest airport in Wisconsin. In 2018, Appleton was named the fourth-fastest-growing airport in the country by Bloomberg News.
