Thrivent looks to cut expenses by $40M

Thrivent Financial is offering voluntary severance packages to employees as a way to reduce expenses by $40 million during the next two years.

Employees with 10 or more years of experience were offered severance packages. Employees must decide by March 31, said Thrivent spokeswoman Samantha Mehrotra.

In addition to the voluntary severance packages, Thrivent will evaluate programs and different resources to help meet the $40 million savings goal.

Thrivent is a non-profit, membership organization of Christians that offers financial and insurance services. It has about 1,950 employees in Appleton.
