This summer, Green Bay’s CityDeck and Leicht Memorial Park and Sheboygan’s City Green will become destinations for arts, culture, food and fun with several free concerts aimed at entertaining and uniting the community.

Both Green Bay and Sheboygan will offer a weekly series of free concerts this summer as part of the Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Awards program. Levitt AMP awards $25,000 in matching funds to nonprofit organizations serving communities with populations up to 400,0000. Green Bay received a one-year grant, and Sheboygan received multiyear funding that began in 2015 and will last through this summer.

According to its website, Levitt AMP promotes “the joy of free, live music and bringing communities together in small and mid-sized towns and cities across the country.”

The Levitt AMP Green Bay Music Series, presented by On Broadway Inc., will be held at Leicht Memorial Park, an underused riverfront park in the city’s downtown. The venue will offer concerts at 7 p.m. each Tuesday from June 18 through Aug. 27. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, and concessions and food trucks will be available onsite.

Sheboygan will hold its Levitt AMP series Thursday nights, June 20 through Aug. 15, in the City Green, a new urban greenspace that include a permanent stage and sits between the Mead Public Library and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. The John Michael Kohler Arts Center partners with the City of Sheboygan and Harbor Centre Sheboygan to offer the series.

For the first time ever, Compassionate Home Health Care will bring Rock the Dock Green Bay to the CityDeck landing. The July 13 event begins at 1 p.m. and offers music on three stages as well as food stands, beer tents and multiples vendors. Musical genres include rock, reggae, acoustic and funk.

Nonprofit Compassionate Home Health Care helps subsidize the high cost of personal care/hygiene items and cleaning supplies for community members who struggle to purchase these overlooked essentials. Attendees are encouraged to bring personal care or cleaning supply donations to the free event.
