The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. is planning an upcoming trade mission to Japan – a popular destination for Wisconsin exports.

The trade mission will take place Sept. 6-14. The group will stay in Tokyo, with appointments in both Tokyo and Yokohama as well as a group trip to Chiba City.

Japan, which has the fourth largest economy in the world, is ranked No. 6 on the list of where state companies send their exports. Top categories include industrial machinery, medical and scientific instruments, electrical machinery and prepared meat and seafood products. Since Japan has a large, developed economy, a variety of companies can find opportunities in the market.

The WEDC takes care of logistics, interpretation needs and lodging so business leaders can focus on meeting and vetting potential partners. Companies attending the trade mission will also receive market intelligence specific to their business and considerations to keep in mind when introducing the company’s products or service into the market.

Gov. Tony Evers is leading the trade mission and will attend key group activities.

Registration for the trip closes July 26. For more information or to register, click here.
