Nestle USA and its Dreyer’s ice cream unit are eliminating 126 jobs across Wisconsin, including 32 employees at its plant just north of Little Chute off County N.
The move is part of Nestle’s decision to end delivery of its ice cream and frozen pizza products directly to stores. An estimated 4,000 jobs will be cut across the country due to the decision.
In addition to the cuts at the Little Chute plant, Nestle plans to close two plants in Delevan and Sussex and cut 32 jobs at its Medford plant. In its notice to the state, the company says the first Wisconsin layoffs will begin Nov. 1.
The area Nestle cuts are in its retail and frozen pizza supply chain areas.
