Two products made in the New North are going up head-to-head in the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce’s Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest.

Mercury Racing’s 450R Outboard Motor from Fond du Lac is competing against Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding’s 124-foot ice-breaking passenger/vehicle ferry from Sturgeon Bay to see which product will move on to the Final Four.

Other match-ups include: LDV Inc.’s custom specialty vehicle against Generac’s DR Power 30-inch wide area mower; Henry Repeating Arms’ Big Boy All-Weather Rifle against Tapped Maple Syrup, LLC’s Infused Maple Syrup; Mayville Engineering Company’s 400 Defender Clay Targeting Machine versus the John Deere Horicon Works X739 Signature Series Lawn Tractor.

This is the fourth year of the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest. Previous winners included the Sea Salt Caramel Pecan Kringle from Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe in De Pere in 2018, Oshkosh Corp.’s Joint Light Tactical vehicle in 2017 and Harley Davidson’s Milwaukee Eight Engine in 2016.

Voting opens Tuesday and runs through Sunday. For more information or to vote, please visit www.madeinwis.com.
