St. Norbert College President Brian Bruess is staying in his post.
In an email to the campus community this morning, Bruess and the board of trustees announced a multiyear contract extension had been reached for the college president. The decision is a stunning reversal of Bruess’ announcement earlier this month that he would leave his position on June 30 due to “differences over vision for the college” with the board.
In the email, Bruess and the board recognized, “We have much work to do, but today we move forward confident in our leadership, united in our vision for the future of our college and grounded in our Catholic, Norbertine and liberal arts traditions.”
After Bruess announced his decision to leave after the academic year, some students and faculty protested the move.
