In 2009, Alison Heiser Associates launched its consulting practice with a small group of clients to develop growth strategies for CEOs leading mid-cap and privately held companies. Today the business has expanded to serve leaders in Fortune 1000 and nonprofit organizations while maintaining strong relationships with our original clients. We work best when we connect routinely with senior leadership, understand the culture and social dynamics, and foster personal relationships within the organization.
Our clients hire McKinsey, BCG and others to develop strategic options where the consulting firm staffs the engagement and owns the deliverables. These same clients engage us to collaborate with their leaders and teams to develop strategies and solve complex problems that are better suited to, and owned by, internal teams. Design thinking is at the heart of our process, and we concentrate on business model innovation and uncovering opportunities for growth. Similar to large consulting engagements, our approach provides focus, discipline and a sense of urgency around key milestones.
We are currently working on plans to open an innovation studio later this year, and look forward to introducing a wider audience to our innovation methods and tools in a space custom-designed for collaboration.
We’re engaged when clients are confronted with “wicked problems” that require deep thinking and imagining new business models — and other critical business issues that are most important to driving growth. Our engagements fall broadly into three key areas:
Innovation and growth strategies for mature businesses
Business model design for innovation teams
Strategic advising for leaders driving innovation
Our special interests include social entrepreneurship and coaching nonprofit leaders, sustainability and business models for a circular economy.
How do clients describe the results?
“We just couldn’t have gotten there without you.”
