Northeast Wisconsin is known for many things, but fashion typically doesn’t appear at the top of the list. Shanna Zeitler, owner of Azure, a clothing and accessories boutique in De Pere, is on a mission to change that.
“I would go to Chicago and other places to do my shopping, and I wasn’t the only one doing that,” Zeitler says. “There’s no reason why we couldn’t bring great clothes to the women here.”
That’s exactly what Zeitler has done with Azure, which celebrated its eight-year anniversary in April. With a mix of casual and dressy items and accessories, the boutique brings something fresh to the Wisconsin shopping scene. “We’re always on our toes in the sense of looking for what the next trends are,” Zeitler says.
Beyond the unique items that you won’t find elsewhere in the area, Zeitler knows it is the level of customer service that really sets Azure apart. From the moment customers walk in the door, they’re greeted, offered something to drink while they shop and assisted by friendly associates. The entire shop is organized according to color, making it easier for customers to find what they are looking for.
“You can’t get that level of personalization when you’re shopping online, so that’s something that we really wanted to make a priority,” Zeitler says.
Zeitler has launched “Fwrd Fashion” to stay relevant in the changing retail landscape. With Fwrd Fashion, customers communicate via text or email about specific items they are seeking and can then have them delivered to their home or business or shipped to them. The shopper keeps what she likes, and the rest is either picked up by Azure or sent back with complimentary shipping.
With a constant watchful eye on the future — of both fashion and industry trends — Azure has continued to thrive. While the success of her business has been rewarding, Zeitler admits it’s her customers that keep her going. “I love helping people look and feel their very best,” she says.
