The Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce announced the following grand openings in Fond du Lac: Kreative Kraftwerks at 207 N. Main St.; LLC at 987 S. Main St.; Welsch Restaurant and Ale House at W3675 County Road WH in Malone; Benvenuto’s Italian Grill at 625 Rolling Meadows Drive; Commonwealth Riverside Apartments/Coffee Shop & Deli at 57 N. Main St.; Herlache Truck Lines LLC at 76 Western Ave.; Schmitt Title LLC at 65 W. Pioneer Road; Mahala’s Hope at 207 N. Main St.; Riverside Senior Apartments at 57 N. Macy St. and Goebel Insurance & Financial at 76 Western Ave.

Keller Planners, Architects and Builders of Kaukauna announced the following projects: Remodeling of Sun Chemical Corporation facility at 450 Milwaukee St. in Menasha with expected completion in 2014; building a 12,500-square-foot office and warehouse for Aerial Work Platforms at 2380 Holly Road in Neenah with expected completion in April 2014; and Eagle Supply & Plastics Inc. moved to 2929 West Evergreen Drive in Appleton.

The Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA unveiled a new sign at the 205 Maritime Drive location in Manitowoc to align with the national ‘“Y” brand.  The Manitowoc Marina opened a new indoor heated storage facility at the City Centre Private Industrial Park to meet the demand for winter storage. The facility was built by A.C.E. Building Service of Manitowoc.

The Northeast Wisconsin Technical College’s 680 employees donated $101,415 to the NWTC Educational Foundation during the college’s 2013 Employee Giving Campaign.

Wisconsin Business Development awarded the Small Business Achievement Award to Jagemann Stamping Company of Manitowoc for undertaking a large expansion that will create more than 100 jobs.

Lakefield Telecom Inc. of Newton merged with Nsight, the Green Bay-based parent company of Nsight Teleservices and Cellcom. Lakefield is part-owner and partner with Nsight, providing Cellcom cellular service within Manitowoc, Kewaunee and Door counties.

Houle Enterprises of Oshkosh was selected to spearhead engineering services for Phase II of the Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park Inc. project, which includes selecting appropriate parcels of land for development of its planned motorized trail recreation venue in Forest County.

The Stroke Coordinators of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Coverdell Stroke Program honored Aurora BayCare Medical Center for having the fastest “door-to-needle” time in the state for the third quarter. Door-to-needle time means the amount of time it takes for a patient suffering acute ischemic stroke to receive intravenous plasminogen activator treatment.

Dorsch Ford Lincoln Kia opened a new location at 2564 Lineville Road in Howard. The 17,300-square-foot building offers sales and service for most makes and models of used vehicles. Smet Construction Services Corp. of Green Bay was the construction manager for this project.

ChemDesign of Marinette selected De Pere-based SRC Technologies to provide IT managed services.

The former Paradise Club building sold to local commercial real estate developer Bob Gregorski, who plans to demolish the current building once the new site layouts are approved by the Town of Grand Chute.

The Manitowoc Company will showcase several cranes at CONEXPO 2014 in Las Vegas from March 4 to 8.

Faith Technologies of Menasha acquired CSS Power, a privately owned nationwide provider of critical power and infrastructure solutions in Verona.

On Broadway Inc. announced the opening of Café Madrid located at 154 N. Broadway in the Historic District of Green Bay. Café Madrid is the first Spanish-influenced restaurant in the area.

KI Convention Center broke ground on a $23 million addition, which will expand the center to 80,000 square feet. The expansion will include a 24,500-square-foot ballroom and three additional meeting rooms totaling 5,330 square feet. Completion is expected in June 2015.

U.S. Oil in Appleton partnered with the Dart Transit Company of Minnesota to build a second GAIN Compressed Natural Gas station located in Fort Wayne, Ind. With this addition, U.S. Oil has 13 GAIN stations located throughout the Midwest.

Kondex Corporation, located just south of Fond du Lac, won the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers’ AE50 Award for its draper drive roller improvements. This annual award is given to about 50 companies globally that present the most innovative designs in engineering products or systems for the food and agriculture industries.

The Wasmer Company of New Holstein earned the “Green Professional” status in the Green Masters Program established by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council for demonstrating continued commitment to sustainability.

The Milken Institute’s Best Performing Cities 2013 stated that  Fond du Lac metro ranked 65th out of 179 small city metros in America. Fond du Lac metro also ranked 13th out of 179 for the presence of high-tech industries.

Waterstone Mortgage opened a new location at 356 S. Koeller St. in Oshkosh.

Cousineau Auto Parts opened The Service Garage at 2225 W. Nordale Drive in Appleton to provide an alternative to vehicle repair and maintenance. Customers rent The Service Garage as an indoor service bay for auto repairs. Each service bay provides all necessary tools, such as vehicle lifts, mechanic tools, diagnostics, tire balancer and welder.

Maritime Gardens Assisted Living chose Bayland Buildings Inc. of Hobart as the general contractor for its new Maritime Gardens Community Based Residential Facility located at 1945 Dewey St. in Manitowoc. Construction is expected to complete this spring.

County Materials Corporation’s landscape products were recognized as a part of a 2013 HNA Hardscape Project Award to The Sharper Edge Landscaping of De Pere for a backyard patio project designed and installed in Oneida. County Materials Corporation has offices in Appleton and Green Bay.

Lamers Bus Lines Inc. of Green Bay was recognized by the Wisconsin Clean Transportation Program for leadership in the advancement of alternative fuels and technology in Wisconsin.

Advance recognized Fox River Fiber of De Pere and N.E.W. Plastics Corp of Luxemburg as the newest investors in the NationJob Network, the number one community-based Internet recruitment program. Chamber members with fewer than 35 employees can post their jobs for free through the network.

Investors Community Bank in Manitowoc partnered with the Economic Development Corporation of Manitowoc County to create financial solutions and maximize cash flow for customers.

Wisconsin LLC, a member of Mid-America Real Estate, announced the following transactions: Single Tenant Operational Real Estate (STORE) Capital Acquisitions LLC purchased NPS Corp. located at 1680 Bond St. and 3303 Spirit Way in Green Bay. Recycled Denim with a Twist leased 2,200 square feet at 800 Willard Drive in Ashwaubenon. Jimmy John’s leased 1,838 square feet at 141 N. Main St. in Racine. Waukesha State Bank and Culver’s leased a portion of Lot 6 at Woodman’s in Waukesha.

Denmark State Bank in Wrightstown selected A.C.E. Building Service of Manitowoc for a complete interior remodeling project of its Whitelaw branch. The project is expected to be finished this month.

Tufco Technologies Inc. of Green Bay merged with entities affiliated with Griffin Holdings LLC of Brown County.

Batley CPA LLC’s relocated to the Jersild Building at 333 N. Commercial St. in Neenah. Batley CPA also has offices in Green Bay and Appleton.

The Berlin Area School District selected Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction Inc. in Appleton to design and build a new middle school onto the existing high school and also will expand the Clay Lamberton Elementary School. The $18.7 million project construction will begin this spring.

The Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau awarded Lawrence University a $250,000 Tourism Development Grant for the renovation of the Banta Bowl. The proposed project renovations include raising and widening the sports field to accommodate soccer and lacrosse and the installation of a high-quality synthetic playing surface. The total cost of the project is estimated at $5.07 million and the grant will be paid over five years.

St. Elizabeth Hospital of Appleton was awarded the Exemplary Employer Award for its commitment to progressive employment practices that encourage the full participation of people with disabilities through Project SEARCH, a one-year internship program for students with disabilities who are in their last year of high school. Studer Group awarded St. Elizabeth Hospital the Excellence in Patient Care award for its outstanding performance in emergency department patient care.

Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) now offers Oracle Trio certification courses in its MBA program for students who want to enhance their careers in the IT field. CUW’s program was No. 117 on the U.S. News and World Report’s 2014 rankings of the best online graduate business programs in the nation. It ranked higher on the list than any other private college or university in the state of Wisconsin.

Stellar Blue Technologies, an Appleton-based digital marketing firm, launched a custom website for ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value.

ThedaCare opened a redesigned and renovated ThedaCare Behavioral Health inpatient unit at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah that cost $4.3 million and took 14 months to construct.

The ClarityIQ, a cardiac and vascular catheterization X-ray imaging system, at Holy Family Memorial in Manitowoc, was upgraded with a new system that cuts radiation exposure to patients by 73 percent. The system was created by Philips Healthcare Company and received FDA approval last summer.
