Wisconsin Public Service recently purchased Fox Energy Center in Kaukauna for $440 million. WPS says the purchase will provide the utility with a guaranteed source of electricity from the natural gas- and fuel oil-fueled power plant along U.S. 41. WPS has bought electricity from the plant since it began operations in 2005.

MetJet sold all 250,000 shares of stock that were available to the public during its second stock offering. The offering allows MetJet to further promote its nonstop flights from Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay to Orlando and the addition of its second flight destination in Fort Myers. The company will also use this money for marketing and for retained earnings.

Stellar Blue Web Design LLC, a digital marketing agency that has been virtual since it opened in 2005, has opened a brick-and-mortar location at 1580 Lyon Drive in Neenah. The training studio will be used to provide hands-on workshops and presentations to clients, local businesses, students and entrepreneurs. Stellar Blue also plans on maintaining its virtual offices.

Two companies in the New North – KI and Acuity – were named to the InformationWeek 500, a list of the top U.S. technology innovators. This is KI’s fifth time on the list and Acuity’s ninth year on the list.

Flavor 8 Bottling LLC of New London has signed a distribution agreement with Johnson Distributing of Stevens Point to distribute the Flavor 8 soda pop line in 10 counties in central and north central Wisconsin. Flavor 8 sodas are available in eight different flavors and sweetened with real sugar and come in eco-friendly returnable packaging.

Sunset Hill Stoneware now offers custom-made mugs and steins adorned with 12 unique designs featuring portraits and famous quotations of Vince Lombardi. The artwork was developed by Sunset Hill Stoneware in collaboration with the Lombardi family.

Automated Records Management Systems Inc. (ARMS) in Green Bay has been named the official records management, scanning and shredding partner of the Green Bay Packers.

Skyline Technologies in Green Bay received a 2012 American Graphic Design Award from Graphic Design USA for the design work done on the CoVantage Credit Union website.

Advanced Tooling Inc. is adding 10,000 square feet to its Mount Calvary facility in Fond du Lac County. The additional room is needed for more equipment for the manufacturer of cutting tools for mills, mold and fabrications shops, the electronics industry, the dental industry and recently for the medical industry. The expansion should be finished this month. As part of the expansion, 10 to 15 new jobs will be created over the next three years.

Bruno Independent Living Aids in Oconomowoc received the “Futuremakers Partner Award” from the Wisconsin Technical College System.

Fox Valley Technical College received a Gold Well Workplace Award from the Wellness Council of America and its local affiliate, the Wellness Council of Wisconsin.

J. J. Keller in Neenah now offers a pre-employment screening program (PSP) service to provide carriers with a complete review of a driver’s history and aid in the hiring process. Carriers receive a PSP “scorecard” from Keller with an overall evaluation based on variables tied to driver performance. In addition to aiding in hiring decisions, the assessments from J. J. Keller help manage fleet compliance safety and accountability (CSA) scores, can be used in driver training, and improve overall hiring processes.

Forbes named Goodwill one of America’s 25 Most Inspiring Companies. This designation recognizes the work of the national Goodwill enterprise and the work of its 165 independent regional Goodwill organizations, including Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin (NCW).

The Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation received a Gold Excellence in Economic Development Award for its Innovation at Work marketing campaign from the International Economic Development Council. This video-in-print project is an effort to showcase FCEDC’s in-depth study on the area’s seven targeted industries.

The city of Oshkosh is getting safer with the installation of public access AEDs, or automatic external defibrillators. AEDs administer a controlled electric shock to the chest or heart of a person suffering sudden cardiac arrest to correct his or her life-threatening irregular heartbeat. The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, the Oshkosh Fire Department, together with Aurora Health Care, Affinity Health System and ThedaCare, have raised $30,000 toward a $100,000 goal of purchasing and maintaining public AEDs.

Keller Planners, Architects and Builders is constructing a 2,100-square-foot build-out for Midwest Dental in Green Bay. Midwest Dental is adding space to its current location to accommodate another dentist.

Teal Consulting Group LLC moved to 1127 S. Main St., Oshkosh. The move accommodates recent staff growth while allowing for future expansion. Teal Consulting Group provides business valuation services, forensic accounting and litigation consulting services.

Living Tree Estates LLC in Greenville broke ground on an 8,400-square-foot dementia wing, adding on 13 rooms. The new addition will open in January 2013. Robert Acord of Neenah was architect, and Cops Construction of Kaukauna the general contractor. Living Tree Estates, owned by Tom and Jackie Martin, has been providing care for residents for seven years.

Shawano Medical Center’s programs to help cardiovascular and pulmonary patients recover more quickly have earned national recognition. The American Association of Cardiovascular Pulmonary Rehabilitation accredited Shawano Medical Center’s cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.

NEWisconsin MRI Center was awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging from the American College of Radiology.

The St. Vincent Hospital Laboratory in Green Bay received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists.

Truven Health Analytics has named Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay as one of the nation’s top 50 cardiovascular hospitals. This is the third time the hospital has received this honor. Aurora BayCare also received the American College of Cardiology Foundation’s NCDR ACTION Registry–GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2012.
