Great Northern Corporation’s Consumer Packaging & Display division took home a total of six awards – including the “Creative Best of Show” award in the temporary display category and one gold award – from GlobalShop 2012, the world’s largest annual retail design and marketing event. Great Northern received a creative best of show award for its Mountain Dew ceiling wave in the temporary convenience store retailer category; a gold award for its Mountain Dew cooler door oversize bottle in the temporary convenience store retail category; a gold award for its 3M Staples holiday half pallet in the temporary books, newspapers, magazines, stationery and office supplies category; a silver award for its 3M Office Depot holiday full pallet in the temporary books, newspapers, magazines, stationery and office supplies category; and a bronze award for its Verizon Wireless/Best Buy four-way display in the semi-permanent specialty retailer category.
Bellin Health of Green Bay and Agnesian HealthCare of Fond du Lac are among a group of regional health care organizations that have partnered to launch an accountable care strategy and other health care initiatives. The partnership, Quality Health Solutions Inc., represents 28 hospitals in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula along with 4,000 affiliated physicians. The organization members have a combined net revenue of nearly $6 billion. In addition to Bellin and Agnesian, other members include Aspirus, Wausau; and Columbia St. Mary’s, Froedtert Health, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare and the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Bellin Health also recently received a Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get with the Guidelines stroke program for ensuring that stroke patients receive nationally accepted care standards.

The loan program currently has a commitment of $475,000 in microloans for local businesses.
J.F. Ahern of Fond du Lac recently received a Wisconsin Division of State Facilities’ (DSF) 2011 Best Project Award for its contributions to the new University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Centennial Hall academic building. Ahern’s fire protection system installations were completed on time and on budget approximately one year ago. Centennial Hall is now the largest academic building on the UW-La Crosse campus at 189,000 square feet, and features 44 classrooms and two auditoriums. It is also on track to become the first new academic facility in the UW-System to obtain LEED certification. J.F. Ahern also received an Ansul Triple Diamond Alliance Partner for its outstanding performance in 2011. Currently, less than 20 percent of Ansul distributors hold Diamond Alliance Partner status. Ahern is the only Triple Diamond Alliance Partner in its headquarters state of Wisconsin.
Shea Electric & Communications LLC of Oshkosh has formed a partnership with Indiana-based SpaceGuard Products, a leading manufacturer of secure storage solutions, as an expansion of its security line of service. Shea will now offer SpaceGuard products to its customers.
Bankers’ Bank recently named Stephenson Financial Services, the investment arm of the Stephenson National Bank & Trust, as its top bank retail investment program. Fox Communities Credit Union received a Diamond Award from the Credit Union National Association Marketing and Business Development Council recognizing its outstanding marketing and business development achievements in the credit union industry. Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center labs that help diagnose neurological disorders recently earned national accreditation. The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists gave a five-year accreditation to the hospitals’ electroencephalography laboratories.

Theda Clark Medical Center’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit recently received a three-year accreditation from CARF International, marking 30 consecutive years of the unit being acknowledged for its high quality services and high patient satisfaction rankings. The inpatient rehab unit at Theda Clark treats patients who are frequently recovering from a stroke, brain injury or spinal code injury.
The Port of Green Bay posted significant increases in international cargo during the 2011 navigation season, earning it the prestigious Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award from the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC), an agency of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The project included updating the terminal to meet ADA standards, remodeling the lobby and adding a 2,588-square-foot addition to house offices, restrooms and meeting rooms.
