After an 18-month hiatus, Insight Publications is finally holding an in-person event — the Insight Open — on June 17 at High Cliff Golf Course in Sherwood. I’m excited not just because I’ll get to play a game of golf but because it will be an opportunity to meet with our sponsors, advertisers and readers.

Due to the pandemic, we were unable to hold any of our signature events in person in 2020, including InDevelopment and the Manufacturing First Expo & Conference, plus our newest event, the Women of Influence in the New North Region Awards. Insight’s mission is “connecting minds, creating insights,” and we are excited to connect in person once again.

As for the golf outing, we have everything set for our four-person scramble. Several hole sponsors will be providing additional activities and contests to create more interaction with our golfers out on the course. Perhaps best of all is the networking reception immediately following the golf. I am looking forward to announcing the results from the day and presenting many of the prizes and giveaways.

Looking ahead to other major golf events happening in our region, it is great to hear both the U.S. Venture Open and the Ryder Cup are moving full steam ahead. The U.S. Venture Open is the nation’s single-largest one-day charity golf outing. This year’s event is scheduled for Aug. 11 at golf courses across Northeast Wisconsin. Since its first outing in 1986, the U.S. Venture Open has raised over $51 million to distribute through the Basic Needs Giving Partnership to help end poverty in the region. More information can be found at

The Ryder Cup, originally scheduled in Sheboygan County last year, will now be played Sept. 21 to 26, at Whistling Straits. The biennial Ryder Cup features the top players from the United States and Europe and is one of the most watched sporting events in the world. Visit for more details.

Beyond gathering safely on the golf course, other in-person events are also scheduled. The New North Summit will lead the way with an in-person event at Lambeau Field on June 10. As for Insight, we hope to gather for several more in-person events, including our Insight Women of Influence in the New North Region Awards on Aug. 3, InDevelopment on Sept. 9 and Manufacturing First on Oct. 27. All our events will follow the latest health and safety recommendations. For the latest on all our events, visit and click on the Events tab.

Looking “fore-ward” to seeing everyone again soon.
