Fred Monique, vice president of economic development for Advance, retired from the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce in May. Monique joined the organization in 1999. Under Monique’s direction, Advance focused programming on four key areas: entrepreneurial and start-up incubation, business retention, business attraction and general business development. The Chamber hired Missy Steffek as director of membership and retention. Steffek most recently served as an account specialist for Owens & Minor, Inc. ThedaCare has promoted Jenny Redman-Schell to senior vice president. She most recently was chief operating officer for physician services. ThedaCare named Carrie Riley as director of population health development and integration. Julie Kressin has accepted the role of director of business integration for ThedaCare in Shawano. She will integrate the separate ThedaCare Physicians-Shawano clinic with the new ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano, slated for completion in early 2015. The ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value released the book Beyond Heroes: A Lean Management System for Healthcare, by lean leader and former senior vice president of ThedaCare Kim Barnas. The book is the third title released by the center.
University of Wisconsin System President Ray Cross has named David J. Ward as interim senior vice president for academic and student affairs for the UW System. Ward will succeed Mark A. Nook, who accepted a new position as chancellor at Montana State University Billings. Ward also served as interim chancellor at UW-Green Bay from 2008-09.
Ward, CEO of NorthStar Consulting, Inc., a Madison-based economic consulting and research firm he established in 2000, was recently named chair of the WiSys Technology Foundation.
