Make the most of airport delays

“If you are like me, you often think you are too busy to squeeze in time for yourself and your health … there are simply not enough hours in a day. However, as the old saying goes, ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way.’ For example, long delays in airports are no longer a nuisance to me. Instead, they provide plenty of time for relaxation, pampering and even a nice dinner at a good restaurant. Airports now provide a wide variety of services such as nail salons, shopping, restaurants, massage booths or just enough space to get those daily steps in. For me, airports have become the perfect place to take advantage of forced free time. I have replaced being stressed with getting my nails done, reading a book for pleasure and getting my steps in.”

Embracing community fun

“One of my favorite ways to unwind is to take advantage of the community activities that are available in spades, especially in the summer. Things like Cheese Fest in Little Chute, the Appleton farmers market and the Oshkosh Waterfest series are great ways for my husband and me to be outside and enjoy time with each other while also supporting local communities. With my kiddos, I love taking them to the Building for Kids, Timber Rattler games and other family-friendly events — it’s fun to see them living out their childhood and it helps root me in what’s important in life.”

The genuine feeling

“I can always count on the Jenna Kutcher blog and her podcast, ‘Goal Digger,’  to bring laughter, light and inspiration into my daily life. Jenna gives her readers and listeners the tools to be the boldest you, to own your awesomeness and build a successful life. She tackles the tough topics too, like sharing her years of struggling with miscarriages and overcoming fears of not being good enough. Jenna is someone who touches the lives of so many in the most genuine ways, being that voice next to you and rooting you on as you reach your goals and discover who you are.”

Andrea Collins, ThedaCare Family of Foundations, Appleton

A good laugh

“When I’m in the mood to disconnect from the beer industry on a long drive, my favorite podcast to pass the time is ‘How Did This Get Made.’  A group of super funny actor/comedian hosts including Paul Scheer and Jason Mantzoukas lead a discussion, either in studio or live in front of an audience, breaking down a terrible movie in hilarious fashion. The movie can either be an oldie or a new release, and whether or not you’ve seen it, their ‘analysis’ always produces an amazingly entertaining 60-90 minutes.”
