Newcap leadership has told employees they will be out of jobs as the organization will shut down operations after June 30, according to Fox 11 News.

The announcement comes five weeks after FOX 11 reported allegations that the nonprofit was misusing taxpayer money.

Newcap has been providing financial help to residents in a 10-county service area for more than 60 years for things like housing, home weatherization, and health care. The service area includes Brown, Florence, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto and Shawano counties.

The Wisconsin Department of Administration put Newcap under “enhanced financial monitoring” late last year.
