The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley received an anonymous donation of $1.4 million that will be invested in its STEM and career readiness programs.
This investment will empower over 4,000 youth annually within three years, providing hands-on, experiential learning and career exploration opportunities across Appleton, Menasha, and Neenah.
“Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we can reimagine what STEM and career readiness can look like for local youth. This investment allows us to create inclusive, inspiring spaces and programs that will help thousands of young people discover their potential and prepare to reach their full potential, said Greg Lemke-Rochon, CEO of BGCFV
Highlights of the expansion include:
- State-of-the-art Makers Labs at Club branch locations
- New and enhanced programming for youth, including immersive VR career simulation, robotics, coding, visits to post-secondary campuses, and the Level All career readiness platform
- Dedicated STEM opportunities for girls, such as a week-long Girls STEM Summer Camp.
- New staffing infrastructure, including a full-time STEM & WFR Program Director and site-based coordinators
- Measurable outcomes, including increased daily participation
