Green Bay Packaging is among the businesses identified as Wisconsin businesses achieving high marks for sustainability efforts during the run-up to the 17th annual conference of the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council Nov. 13 at the Harley-Davidson Garage & Museum in Milwaukee.
The conference serves as a forum for business leaders and sustainability experts to network, share knowledge, and celebrate the measurable improvements that result from the sustainability achievements of Wisconsin businesses.
“Our Green Masters Program has grown by 30 percent when it comes to new business participation in the last two years,” said WSBC Managing Director Jessy Servi Ortiz. “This growth shows us that – from small businesses to large manufacturers – companies see the value in the program’s ability to align their sustainability priorities and drive measurable results.”
In its 15-year history, the program has helped more than 350 Wisconsin businesses define, measure, and improve their sustainability programs.
Manufacturing and heavy industrial sectors have shown significant engagement, with 50 percent of Green Masters Program participants coming from these industries during the past two years.
The 2024 conference keynote speakers will be Laura E. Kohler, chief sustainable living officer at Kohler Co., and Jennifer Anderson, EVO of Global Corporate Strategy & Development at Generac, among other sustainability leaders. The event Nov. 12 and 13 also will include workshops and roundtable discussions about how to implement sustainability cutting-edge trends, supply chain innovation, and collaborative strategies for a resilient future.
