As a five-generation, family-owned business, the company has continually been forward-thinking in both business growth and company culture.
GLC Minerals takes a thoughtful approach to its philanthropy, choosing programs and organizations that are meeting real needs in our community. Over the last 14 years, GLC Minerals has provided gifts to more than 150 worthy organizations with focus areas that include adoption and foster care support, neighborhood development and conservation of the Port of Green Bay and the Fox River. Each year, an employee committee determines a fourth focus area, based on the most pressing needs of the community. Recent choices have included addressing the mental health crisis and providing support for refugees.
The company also conducts site visits with nonprofit organizations to learn more about their work and how GLC can best support them. By engaging employees in this process, GLC helps its staff to be aware of what’s going on in the community so that they might also give their individual time and talent to help grow the greater good, nominators say.
