In its 92 years, Capital Credit Union has grown to more than $2.8 billion in assets and more than 128,000 members at the end of 2025. In the past three years, Capital Credit Union has “strategically expanded our market presence and geographic reach to better serve our communities,” says Laurie Butz, President & CEO.
In 2021, the organization recognized the need for a comprehensive culture change from transactional to relational in order to improve employee engagement, reduce turnover and strengthen member experiences. Capital Credit Union adopted a new vision, mission and set of core values that prioritized empathy, collaboration and holistic support, Butz says. “At the core of our growth is our commitment to being a true financial partner,” she says.
In 2025, the organization received the New North Workplace Excellence Award, along with the UW‑Green Bay Weyenberg Prize for Business Excellence and a Fox Cities Platinum Level Workplace Award.
