3 Sheeps Brewing has been selected by Wisconsin’s Semiquincentennial Commission to brew the state’s official Semiquincentennial beer.

This is part of a larger campaign by dozens of states across the country — all brewing an “official” beer — in celebration of the United States 250th anniversary.

“Stay Golden has always been our nod to some of the great beers of the past, including Kingsbury Pale Ale, which has deep roots in my family’s brewing history,” said Grant Pauly, founder and brewmaster of 3 Sheeps Brewing. “My great-grandfather served as president, my grandfather was treasurer, and my great-uncle was brewmaster at Kingsbury after Prohibition.”

“So to take a beer inspired by that legacy and have it represent Wisconsin for America’s 250th birthday feels really special,” said Pauly.

In honor of America’s birthday, 3 Sheeps redesigned the Stay Golden label and packaging to highlight its red, white, and blue artwork, along with “Celebrating 250 Years” and “Proudly Independent Since 1776” featured on the main label.
